BARDSTOWN, KY - August 29, 2025 - Telecast Communications, LLC today announced it has provisionally been awarded a $1.2 million grant through the Kentucky Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program to bridge the digital divide in the region. The grant will fund the construction of a new high-speed internet network delivering service to over 1900 unserved and underserved homes and businesses across rural areas of LaRue and Nelson Counties.

The project will provide residents with access to up to symmetrical gigabit internet speeds with ultra-low latency and ultra-high reliability, a critically needed service that enables seamless remote work, online education, telehealth, and modern business operations. In a further commitment to the community, Telecast Communications will also use its own funds to expand its network into the City of Bardstown and other parts of Nelson County such as Bourbon Springs, Bellwood, and more.

"This grant allows us to provide a critically needed service that will fuel economic growth and connect our neighbors," said Cameron Lasley, CEO of Telecast Communications. "For too long, families and businesses in our rural areas have been at a digital disadvantage. We are ready to get to work and will waste no time in building the infrastructure that will empower them with the opportunities they deserve."

Telecast Communications was awarded funding to build to 1,791 locations across Coxs Creek, Fairfield, Bloomfield, Chaplin, and Sparrow in Nelson County, and 120 locations between Hodgenville and Sonora in Hodgenville.

This investment will have a direct, positive impact on the local economy. Telecast Communications will be hiring five new full-time employees for the project and will contract extensively with local businesses, including concrete crews, installers, and tower climbers, creating numerous additional jobs throughout the construction phase.

Telecast Communications is committed to a rapid deployment schedule and plans to begin construction as soon as legally permitted by the BEAD program, targeting the first quarter of 2026.

Key benefits of the Telecast Communications network include:

  • Symmetrical Speeds: Upload speeds as fast as download speeds, up to 1 gigabit per second (Gbps) based on location.

  • Reliability: A robust and resilient broadband network designed for superior uptime and performance.

  • Future-Proof Technology: Infrastructure built to handle the growing data demands of tomorrow.

  • Local Support: Dedicated customer service from a team that lives and works in the community.
